Ricoh Copiers, Week of 11/18: Unavailable 30 Minutes for Software Change

During the week of November 18th, Information Services will be replacing the authentication software on all Ricoh copiers across campus.

Over the course of the week, a Ricoh technician and possibly an IS staff member will visit each office to reconfigure the copier's card reader and update the copier's software.  This work will take a maximum of thirty minutes, during which all of the copier's functions (copy, scan, print, fax) will be unavailable.  IS will be in touch at least 24 hours in advance to notify each office of the date their copier will be affected.

The copier will perform all of the same functions, though some screens will look a little different.  The copy and fax screens will remain the same, and the scanning option will be nearly unchanged.  What will be different is the login screen, and the way you navigate to both scanning and releasing "secure" print jobs.  Updated documentation will be published in advance of the change.

Ongoing issues with the current Pharos software has prompted this change.  The new authentication software comes from Ricoh and provides a more integrated experience.
