Announcing the Blackboard Content Manager

IS has recently updated the Blackboard course management system to include the Blackboard Content Manager. The Content Manager allows faculty, staff and students to store material online.  You can continue to use Blackboard as you have in the past, but you are welcome to try some of the new features. Some uses for the Blackboard Content Manager: Group file exchange: a course folder can be set up to allow all members of the course to add or modify files. As many of you have noticed, Blackboard has been a bit unstable this week. We lost access on Tuesday afternoon, overnight Wednesday night, and part of Thursday morning. IS sent out an email warning regarding possible future outages. Here are the details we've received from the hardware and system administrators at Swarthmore: The Blackboard database had been stored on a SAN (storage array network) at Swarthmore that became unstable due to hardware failures.
