I find this very useful when I want to check a date or schedule without getting distracted by my inbox.

On Friday evening, the Bryn Mawr Communication Center (a.k.a Webmail or Zimbra) underwent its first upgrade since it was installed in June.

Many people want put a meeting on both a departmental calendar and their own calendar. The easiest way to do this is to "write" on the departmental calendar, by choosing the name of the department calendar under the Calendar pull down menu on the the New Appointment page, and then just invite yourself.

On the login screen, there is a dropdown entitled "Which version would you like to use?" It usually says "default". If you are having trouble, choose "Standard" from this dropdown. What you will get is a slightly simplified version of the interface which will perform better on older computers or slower connections.
Also, if you are using a computer with an older version of your browser (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.), try updating your browser version. If you are unsure how to do this, feel free to call the Help Desk (x7440)for more information.

For Windows:
Right-click on your desktop.
Move your mouse over "New" until additional options appear and choose "Shortcut".
When asked for a location, type "http://webmail.brynmawr.edu" (without the quotes) and click Next.
Type a name for the shortcut -- we suggest "Communication Center".
Click Finish.
Look for this icon on your desktop and double-click to access the Communication Center.
For the Mac:
Open Firefox or Safari and navigate to http://webmail.brynmawr.edu
In your address bar, you will see a small icon to the left of the address (it will look like a Bryn Mawr lantern). Click this icon and drag it outside the browser window, onto your desktop.

If you're having trouble with the new Communication Center, Information Services will have a Support and Demonstration Center set up in the lounge of Campus Center all day Monday June 9 and Tuesday June 10. Stop by for tips and tricks, help getting started, or support in doing specific tasks. Snacks and beverages will be on hand.
